Anja

Anja Claire has been singing most of her life, harmonizing with her family around the piano and performing in talent contests as a girl in the PNW and Hawaii. Songwriting came a little later and continues to serve as a therapeutic practice in wrestling with life’s conundrums. As a fledgling adult she braved the wide world by moving from Hawaii to NYC back to California and began to tentatively spread her musical wings, but it wasn’t until moving back to the PNW of her youth that she really took flight. Over the years Anja has unfolded her skills by performing in a variety of configurations including alt-rock trio Maitri, genre-fluid Seamus Collective, an acoustic duo Diamondheart, acoustic quintet Sweet Root, with alternative sextet Hale May, acoustic Americana sextet Chele’s Kitchen and solo - playing a little percussion, banjo, bass, cello, guitar and occasional mouth trumpet. 

Anja is an avid gardener, nature lover, and space maker known for bringing people together and creating memorable moments. She currently owns a boutique nursery, gallery & gift shop in downtown Kingston, WA called Havencraft where she curates space with plants and local handmade treasures as well as hosts art, garden and music events.
