John Delp

Like the Rubus Armeniacus, or Himalayan Blackberry, John is not native to the PNW, but since transplanting has thrived in its Maritime climate, amidst the undergrowth shaded by tall cedars.  While neither "invasive" nor "aggressive", he has proven to be a prolific food source for the local fauna, as a fine dining chef and recovering restauranteur.  As a father and husband, you could argue that he is... propagating?  But that's starting to stretch the analogy.  He is high in Vitamins C & K.

An eclectic diet of music formed by an insatiable itch for the unexpected has given John a wide base of musical knowledge.  His time in the Bay Area, and years in Seattle gave him opportunities to play numerous instruments in numerous bands of varying styles.  Among them: found percussion & darbuka in the avant garde chamber quintet Guardian Ear, a custom-welded marching drum kit in the Yellow Hat Band, & percussion & ukulele in the post-rock wall-of-sound Lullabies for Falling Empires.  Don't tell anyone I told you this, but he is also the producer of his 10-year-old son's project Funky Ape, under the pseudonym Jelly Bean.

ALSO NOTEWORTHY: He owns a striped jumpsuit, has peanut butter and jelly tattoos, built his own house and knows most of the words to A Tribe Called Quest's first three albums.
